Chad Roberts is a hard working dad, a runner, a tandem bike pilot, a run guide, a leader within his community, and an arguably unmatched dry wit ;) Chad goes above and beyond when Para Guide asks for his aid, and no job is ever too big or too small.  We are so fortunate to have Chad as a part of team Para Guide.  Below Chad answers a few questions about his experience with Para Guide.

How did you become a part of team Paraguide?

I joined because a friend (Gray Riley) invited me to participate.  It sounded like a neat idea, and after the first race, I was hooked. Shannon and Paul have developed a wonderfully supportive community that is fulfilling for athletes and guides alike.

Please share a memorable experience with us.

I do not have a “memorable experience.”  What I do have is a strong relationship with one of the athletes, Victor Parks.  Vic is a 61-year-old man with a tremendous drive to get better at everything he does.    He is genuinely one of the most amazing people I know and is so much more than a blind athlete doing remarkable things.

When I first started working with Para Guide, I thought it would be an opportunity for me to share the blessings I have with those less fortunate. Frankly, spending time with athletes like Vic, and others, I’ve gained much more from the experience that I’ve put in. They are mentors that make me a better father, husband, and friend to those around me.

It is truly one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.

What are your Goals for 2019?

We’re striving for a sub 30 minute 5k.  Current PR is 36:47.
