Brad Stubbs is a dad, a guide, a runner, a Charlotte Marathon Ambassador, an F3 member, and an asset to his community.  He loves to give back, and Brad is the guy that isn't afraid to say "yes" when he is called upon to help out in big and small ways.  Para Guide is so fortunate to have crossed paths with Brad--he guides, and he often provides transportation for our athletes, which is a huge part of what Para Guide's mission is all about and why we began in the first place--to bridge the transportation gap for blind and visually impaired individuals.  Brad has volunteered his time and energy countless times over the past 18 months for Para Guide and many other local non-profit organizations.  Thank you for what you do for us, Brad!  The following was composed by Brad and summarizes his experience with Para Guide:

How did you become a part of Team Para Guide?

Para Guide is a wonderful organization and a great way to give back. I learned about Para Guide through our F3 men’s workout group. I didn’t know anything about Para Guide but once I knew their mission I was all in. If I can be the sight for someone who can’t see, then I am more than willing to help out. I get more and learn more from the Para Guide athletes than they can imagine. I’m fortunate to be a part of an organization that provides and gives so much to our community!!

My first "Aha" moment with Para Guide was when Shannon and Paul held a training session for us. It was an experience into the Para Guide athletes' world. On a very small scale what they experience. That gives the guides a peek into how to guide better and what we need to do to help the athletes. After that I was able to train with an athlete, then scout at a race. The thanks that we get as guides is so awesome. As a guide I gain so much from helping out.

What are your goals for 2019?

To participate as much as possible and help in any way I can.
