Will Turner is on a World Record quest to complete the most Ironmans (full distance triathlons consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike and a 26.2-mile marathon) in one year. It’s part of his Sixty@60. Will turned 60-years old in January and plans to do 60 Ironmans this year, averaging one every six days. The official Guiness World Record is currently 44, held by a French athlete, but there are two American athletes who have each completed 50 (unofficial). Will has combined his Sixty@60 with his Live Your Bold movement as a way to build a community and support others who want to live boldly and step out of their comfort zones.
On March 2, Will was in Charlotte completing Ironman #10 for the year. This will be the first of his 60 to be completed in North Carolina; his first nine for the year included events in Florida, Virginia and California.
MSA Masters Coach, Patty Waldron provided a swim lane for Will to complete his 2.4 mile swim.
Shannon Houlihan, James Allison and Matt Leuders all spent time on the bike with Will as he completed the 112 ride through a very windy Union County.

Gray Riley and Shannon ran into the night as Will completed 26.2 miles to finish the 140.6 journey and close the books on Ironman #10.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        What What did Will have to say about his experience in Charlotte, “These events can be pretty solitary when you’re out there on your own just gutting it out. The Para Guide team was amazing and enriched the whole experience with their enthusiastic support and company throughout the day! I’m humbled and filled with gratitude for all they did.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                 For more information or to follow Will, you can check out:
